Truck And Container Loading, Done Right

You rent the truck or container. We bring the muscle and the method. Here is how loading help works in Atlanta and around Georgia.

Georgia Movers Since 2017

Why Loading Is The Hardest Part

Renting a truck saves money. Loading it well is another story. Most do-it-yourself movers stack boxes like a pile, not like a wall. Then the first hard stop on GA-400 sends everything forward.

Loading is a skill. Heavy items go low and forward. Boxes build tight tiers. Mattresses and sofas stand on end against the walls. Every gap gets filled with soft goods. A truck loaded this way rides quiet. A truck loaded badly arrives with broken legs, cracked glass and crushed boxes.

Our loading service gives you the savings of a rental truck with the skill of a pro crew. You handle the driving. We handle the lifting, the stacking and the strapping.

Our loaders pack U-Hauls, PODS, U-Boxes, trailers and self-storage units from Forsyth down to Fulton. Below: the payoff, the loads we handle, labor pricing and prep steps.

Loading also protects you. Carrying a 200-pound dresser up a ramp is how backs and knees get hurt. Our crew lifts heavy items every day, with the right technique and gear. You stay safe and keep your energy for the drive.

Want moving labor only? Hire loaders who build a tight wall of furniture and boxes. Just tell us, load my truck, and we bring the crew.

Many renters book us for just two hours.

What You Gain With Loading Help

Lower Total Cost

You pay for labor only. You keep the savings of renting your own truck or container.

Less Damage

Tight, tiered loads stop items from sliding, tipping and crushing each other.

More Fits In

Smart stacking often fits a load into a smaller truck. That cuts rental and fuel costs.

No Injuries

Our crew lifts the heavy pieces. You avoid strained backs and dropped furniture.

Faster Turnaround

A trained crew loads in hours what friends take all day to finish.

Container Deadlines Met

Portable containers come with pickup times. We finish before the driver arrives.

Loading Services We Offer

Rental Truck Loading

We load U-Haul, Penske, Budget and other rental trucks of every size. We build tiers, use your tie-downs and pad every piece of furniture.

Portable Container Loading

Containers have no tie-down rails like a truck. Weight balance matters even more. We spread heavy items evenly so the container lifts level and rides safely.

Storage Unit Loading

We stack storage units so you can reach what you need later. Items you will want first go near the door. Labels face outward. See our closing gap storage if you need a unit too.

Moving Trailer Loading

Trailers need weight placed slightly forward of the axle. Too much weight in back makes the trailer sway. We load for safe towing.

In-Home Moves And Rearranging

Need heavy furniture moved between floors or rooms? Our crew can help with that too, without a truck.

Pair With Unloading

Book rental truck unloading at the other end. You get loaded, drive the truck and meet another crew ready when you arrive.

03

How We Load A Moving Truck

Every pro loading crew follows a similar method. Ours looks like this.

  1. Heavy items first. Appliances, dressers and solid wood pieces go against the front wall, near the cab.
  2. Tall items on the walls. Mattresses, box springs and sofas stand on end along the sides.
  3. Build box tiers. Heavy boxes on the bottom, lighter boxes on top, wall to wall.
  4. Fill every gap. Pillows, bags of linens and cushions fill holes so nothing shifts.
  5. Strap each section. We tie off each tier to the truck rails.
  6. Last on, first off. Essentials and tools ride near the door.

This method keeps weight low and balanced. It also lets the unloading crew work fast and safely.

Gear We Bring To Every Job

  • Furniture pads and blankets for every wood or upholstered surface
  • Shrink wrap for sofas, chairs and drawers, free of charge*
  • Appliance and four-wheel dollies for heavy pieces
  • Shoulder lifting straps for stairs and tight spaces
  • Tools to take apart beds, tables and desks
  • Floor runners and door-frame pads to protect your home

Good gear protects your home as much as your furniture. Dragging a dresser across hardwood leaves marks you pay for later. Dollies and runners prevent that.

Your rental company may supply some pads and a dolly. We bring our own, so we never run short in the middle of a load.

Every strap gets checked for fraying before the shift. Worn gear gets tossed, not patched. A snapped strap mid-ramp can drop a dresser, so we never gamble on old equipment.

05

Choosing The Right Truck Size

Renting too small a truck is the most common DIY mistake. Here is a rough guide based on typical rental sizes.

  • 10 to 12 feet: studio or small one-bedroom
  • 15 to 17 feet: one- or two-bedroom apartment
  • 20 feet: two- or three-bedroom home
  • 26 feet: three- to five-bedroom home

Large furniture, garages and patio sets push you up a size. When in doubt, go one size bigger. A half-empty truck is cheaper than a second trip. Prefer to skip the rental entirely? Our full-service short-distance movers bring the truck too.

06

What Loading Help Costs

Loading help is priced by the hour for the crew. Your total depends on a few factors.

  • Volume: More furniture and boxes mean more hours.
  • Access: Stairs, elevators and long walks slow every trip.
  • Readiness: Fully packed boxes load fast. Loose items do not.
  • Heavy pieces: Pianos, safes and gym equipment may need extra crew.

Your free estimate lists your rate and expected hours in writing. Compare labor-only and full-service totals in our Georgia moving price guide.

07

Loading Mistakes That Break Things

Loading Boxes Before Furniture

Boxes go in last, as tiers around furniture. Loading them first leaves heavy pieces nowhere safe to go.

Laying Mattresses Flat

A flat mattress wastes floor space and gets crushed. Stand it on edge against a wall.

Leaving Gaps

Every gap lets a load shift. Fill gaps with soft goods and strap each section.

Packing Drawers Full

Full drawers make dressers too heavy and stress the joints. Empty them, then wrap the drawers shut.

Overloading One Side

Uneven weight makes trucks and trailers handle badly. Spread heavy items across the width.

08

Rental Truck Vs Portable Container

Both options save money over full-service moving. Each one fits a different situation.

Choose A Rental Truck When

  • You want to move in one day, from door to door.
  • You are comfortable driving a large vehicle.
  • Your new home is ready the same day.

Choose A Portable Container When

  • You need a few days or weeks between homes.
  • You do not want to drive a truck.
  • You are moving long distance and want the container shipped.

Containers usually sit in your driveway. Check your HOA or city rules before delivery. Some Georgia neighborhoods limit how long a container can stay. Either way, our crew loads both with the same care.

Who Hires Loading Help

Budget-Minded Movers

Labor-only service costs less than full-service moving. You drive. We lift. Everyone wins.

Long Distance DIY Movers

Driving a truck across state lines yourself saves money. A pro load keeps your things safe for hundreds of miles. Want us to drive instead? See our door-to-door moving option.

Military And Corporate Moves

Some relocation packages pay for a truck but not for labor. Our loading crew fills that gap.

Estate Cleanouts And Downsizing

Families clearing a parent's home often need help loading items for storage or family members. Our crew works with care and patience. See our retirement community moves page for more.

10

What Happens On Loading Day

Our crew calls when they are on the way. On arrival, the lead mover walks the home with you. Together you agree on what goes and what stays.

Next, the crew pads door frames and lays floor runners. Then they wrap furniture and take apart beds and tables. Hardware goes into labeled bags taped to each piece.

Loading starts with the heaviest items. The lead mover builds the load while the crew carries. Every few tiers, they strap the section to the rails. You can watch, pack your car or take a break.

Before we leave, we walk the home once more. We check closets, cabinets, the attic and the garage. Then we close the truck and you sign off. Most two-bedroom loads take three to four hours with a three-person crew.

Driving a large rental truck is new for many people. Take it slow, allow extra braking distance and avoid the left lane on interstates. Plan fuel stops and low-clearance routes before you leave. The Georgia Department of Transportation posts road work and closures that can affect your route.

11

How To Prepare For Loaders

  1. Pick up your truck or confirm container delivery before the crew arrives.
  2. Park the truck as close to the door as you can, with the ramp clear.
  3. Finish packing every box and tape every lid shut.
  4. Empty dressers, desks and filing cabinets.
  5. Drain hoses and empty fuel from mowers and grills.
  6. Keep valuables, documents and medications in your own car.

Need help packing? Our whole-home packing crew can finish the boxes the day before your loading crew comes.

Match Loaders To Your Rental

Rental trucks and containers come with fixed pickup and return times. Your loaders must fit that clock.

  • Weekend rental slots and loading crews fill together.
  • Container pickups rarely move once scheduled.
  • Peak season runs May through September.

A late booking can cost you an extra rental day.

Secure your crew the same day you rent the truck. The $75 hold applies $70 toward labor.
